K&N Worth It?

My father has a 2002 saab 9-5 arc with the v-6 turbo engine. Unfortunately I know nothing about these cars. He wants to somehow increase gas milage. Would a k&n filter do anything for gas milage on these cars? I know k&n filters do almost nothing for performance gains on an n/a engine but they are supposed to give noticable gains on turbo engines. Would this give any gains on the 9-5?

Although I don't have one in my Saab, I had them in my Blazer and Saturns. Do not expect a mpg or performance increase with the drop in filters. I track milage at every fill-up and I saw NOTHING! Where you will see the savings is in the cost of the replacement air filters at $30 - $50, it pays for itself after a few filter changes (my truck and L300 had $20 - $30 filters, SC2 had $12 filter).
