Have you ever wonder about turboing a zx2?

HEy i found a website that you can put a turbo kit in a zx2. The website is www.focus-power.com . It has a custom turbo that can reach from 180 to 300 hp. Is in it enough for a zx2? i think it is. So if you ever wonder turboing a zx2 i found the answer so you can check it out for ur self and maybe buy one. And it also has different parts too.

tom's going out of business..he has a rep of blowing up zx2's, taking 3mo to ship parts that should take 3weeks and shipping the orders wrong.

he also tries telling you a zx2 tranny will take 350whp....they blow apart at 200whp unless you bably it, you can blow them at 130whp if you race a lot.

there are better more reliable places/kits to do a zx2 turbo

So you are saying that this website and the turbo kit is not worth a penny then how i am supposed to make more power out of my zx2? I know a few things but they are not good to make a lot of horse power. I was also thinking of getting a vortech supercharger. You think it can be put in to a zx2?

Re: Have you ever wonder about turboing a zx2?

How about this . I found a Garrett T25BB turbo for $699. This it what it says about it (Garrett's T25BB (Dual Ball Bearing Center) Turbo is designed to reduce lag and improve durability. The T25BB can pump out more HP than the traditional T25, and the T25BB is perfect for Street use. You will definitely see a difference with a standard transmission when passing maneuvers or making dramatic speed increases. The T25BB is designed for quick start-up from a rolling start (say going from 10 mph to 60 mph). Although the T25BB is slightly more expensive then the T25, if you're looking for a quicker start up time and more HP, then this is the one you want to go with. Get up to 270HP for engines 1.6 to 2.0.). I think it says that it will get about 270 hp on a 1.6 to 2.0 liter engines. If thats so then will it fit a zx2?

Re: Have you ever wonder about turboing a zx2?

also check under the "forced induction" title in AF granted some know what they are talking about others... try to baffle with bs. but if i have a question on turbo's i drop a line to the dsm boys in AF. im ussually vague with my questioning, mostly because they know about dsm's, not fords. but if you know some about zx2's like altec here. you should be able to build a decent one yourself as long as you go about it correctly. also Altec... whats the name of that guy that builds turbo kits... you suggested it earlier. he seemed like he knew what he was talkin about. and the prices were awesome.

Re: Have you ever wonder about turboing a zx2?

Sorry, just seems kinda overkill to me.... There are plenty of little mods you can do (check out zxtuner.com) that will get you up above 200 hp without forced induction. PCM, cold air, catback, pots mod, headers, perfomance engine components, and so on. It's a "tuner car", to me sticking a bigass turbo on there is just kind of cheating. Plus, I've heard enough stories about trannies goin out on stock ZX2's, so if you're talking 200 WHEEL horsepower (stock is actually less than 100!) that's just outta sight. If you do it though, I'd certainly like to see it. Just cuz I wouldn't do it doesn't mean it wouldn't be cool in its own respect
Good luck!!!
