This 1g Head and intake swap sucks!!! Need some help again

Well now im stuck on the coil pack, where the hell do i mount my coil pack now since it does not fit on the 1g intake like the 2g?

Also with the 1g waterpump pipe installed there is no need for this old water line to the turbo correct?
I just block the water hole off in the block?

Thanx
Eric

Maybe get a 1g coil pack? would that work? I can't imagine the two being any different other than the mounting situation.

I would like to help you out their, but mouting your coil pack; I'm just not furmilure with how its done. It's in a diffrent location then the 2g, so I can see why your having such a problem.

Just tighten the Banjo bolt into the block. Or use bolt to block it off, that is unless you want to buy a Water Temp gauge..

Re: This 1g Head and intake swap sucks!!! Need some help again

you can either use a 1g c/p or just use the mounting bracket from a 1g c/p.

when you say 1g water pipe - is it a n/t pipe ? or 90 turbo pipe ?

Re: This 1g Head and intake swap sucks!!! Need some help again

I have some pics, but they are all on my camera at my parents house(220 miles away). I have been working for the past 4 days on getting my 6-bolt into my car. I just modified the 2G coil pack bracket to sit in about the same location as the stock set up. I actually cut one end of the bracket off, then bent one tab and it fit like a glove. It will be a while before I could get any pics up though sorry. When I was done, it was perfect. Just get creative with a grinder and cut-off wheel/hack-saw and you should be able to make something work.

I know your pain, my car is 220 miles away at my parents house. I was lucky(I guess) and lost a rod when I was there over spring break. Its the only place I have to work on it. It would have sucked balls to have lost it where I go to college.

Looking at your pics, I cut off the end where both tabs point down. Then the other side has both pointing away from the bracket. i bent the tab closest to the intake down and used the tab closest to the head for my mounting point. I was in a hurry so my bracket is only bolted on with one bolt. but its solid and it rocks back against the manni for extra support. It works well, and I think once you look at everything, what I just said will make sense.

Re: This 1g Head and intake swap sucks!!! Need some help again

You guys spend way too much time on this. I let my coil pack hang by the wires. I ran like that with stock plug wires deep into the 11s for years. In the end though I mounted it to the firewall to avoid scratching the BJs SMIM, but even that took 10 minutes. I move the break fluid res over and used one of the threaded holes. There are pics on my site.

Block that hole coolant feed off with a replacement bolt and a crush washer, naturally.

Yeah, block that POS off. The 1gT pipe provides the coolant feed.
