2003 top speed
I have had my 03 max for about two years now and got it up to 129 on a long stretch of highway and it didn't want to go any faster (although it was not at redline). I have heard about the speed limiter being set at 156mph. Can the car even go that fast? I have an automatic. I took it to a dyno to see what kind of power was there being stock at the time and it redlined at 129 with the overdrive off. Is this just a coincedence? I have dove a few modifications since then but I haven't tested it yet. Please tell me this car is actually faster than this.

Re: 2003 top speed
Overdrive is your 4th gear, so basically you just maxed out third. I myself have done 140 in a 96 Infiniti i30 auto and then just a little over 140 in my 2000 max 5 spd. I had like 4 miles of highway and couldn't really get any faster and be "safe".

Re: 2003 top speed
Thanks, I haven't been back to that stretch of highway in some time. I hope to get back there soon though; it is about eight to ten miles of straight flat highway.
