I was reading this thread from way back, and someone made a post in there that because of the toughness of the 6g72 engine, 500-600 hp could be achieved without changing any internal engine parts. Anyone care to verify, and maybe briefly explain how? Just outta curiousity....and if it's true, I may have a new goal when I get home.....

From what I've heard you can but some reccomend some a/m internals anyway because the stock internals usually wont hold on as long.

yeah it's true.

How? Swap in larger turbos, give them the supporting fuel and mods. With a safe tune, stock blocks can handle quite a bit of power.

yup, the stock 2 bolt main engine can hold over 600 hp easily with the right tune. The 4 bolt can hold even more.

i saw some one on 3si that mad 640awhp on stock internal,it was 4 bolt engine.

you dont have to be a professional at it, but its definitely not fit for an amateur. It takes time and experience to get it down, but a good starting point is to get a wideband O2 sensor and a datalogger. Try to get the wideband to have your O2's set at 11.5:1 ratio across the board, and monitor for knock with the datalogger.
