6 speed or 5 speed tranny

i had to get a new transmission put in, and i was wondering if their was a 5 or 6 speed automatic tranny for the 99 ga. when i got to 105 the tranny changed gears again, and i could of swore i had already wen't through 5 gears, but i wasn't counting the gears i was just driving, so was it a 5 or a 6 i never looked at the one they put in the car.

thinkin they are 5spd autos, 5th being overdriv.

If this is an SE they top out at 105-110mph, unless its been hacked.

If its the same auto tranny thats in my 01 GASE then it only has 5 gears. Also just xero said, mine will cut out between 108 and about 112.

GA's are supposed to cut off at 110, but premium fuel & little amount of fuel, tires inflated right, you just might get 112.

My blk 99' SE, she tops out at 125-130, slightly modified though

what did you do to get the blk ga to reach 125-130? when i get to 5th gear my car will go as fast as it can but i have to keep it under 4,0000 RPM's because in the last gear the car won't rev over 40000, but in any other gear i can redline it, why is that?

Well for starters it has a GT chip with a computer tune, limiters removed. Check out my Car Domain, it has a list of mods It has. It might even go faster, I'm just not going to push my luck and geta ticket, those suck

Oh ya, and you mean 4000 rpms?? I wished they'd turn 40000 rpms!

mine always cuts at 112 ... revs just dieeeee cause the gov/cpu just kills it to a much 'safer' rpms *shrug
