Re: galaxie fans

Well hey, I'm here. I don't have a Galaxie (they all rusted away up here about 35 years ago) but I still like them.

I think we need a "Galaxie Banter Thread"

Re: galaxie fans

I'm not sure where "Way up here" might be, but I have been watching a Galaxie, I believe a '64, at the Greater Rockford Airport, in Rockford, IL (heart of the rust belt) for the past several years. They are STILL using it as a service vehicle on the airport's grounds, or at least they were using it up until about two years ago. It had obviously been painted at least once in the official airport colors with the insignia/logo on the doors, and the body was completely intact. I had a '64 years ago, and always kept an eye on that one since it was still running and being used regularly. Pretty cool, or what?

Re: galaxie fans

Well me being a Galaxie owner have posted what I can to help and Magic Rat has helped me also, but the problem is alot of Galaxie owners already have their sites they go to ie. fordmuscle.com this has a large group of Galaxie owners and they are very knowledgeable so most of the time I just ask them and can get a few good responces within hours. And for more engine help I just go to network54.com/Forum/74182 this is a good Big Block Fe site.

Re: galaxie fans

A few years back I got my hands on a 72 Galaxie 2 dr.It was dark green with metalflake and a white vinyl top.I put turbine wheels and fat tires all around it and it was one good lookin car.It had a 400 in it which didn't last very long so I put another 400 in it and it didn't last long.So after putting two more 400's in and they went bad,I came across a 68 T-Bird with a 429 ThunderJet engine.I put that engine in it and had a large car that would show a lot of the smaller hot rods the tail lights. In fact I had a couple of guys in 5.0 Mustangs get pretty irate and almost got into fights with them because I beat them.Poor sports, huh?Would love to get my hands on another one soon.
