I really need to fix my boost leaks
Today I was driving two of my friends home(both girls, both in love with my car) and I get to a stop sign and a late modle wrx pulls up next to me and revs it. It looked bone stock, stock exhaust. Normally this would be easy pickins BUT I have boost leaks out the ass and I have my ebc set at 9psi just so I can drive it around and still I cant got past 4500 at wot. Funny thing as I still took him 0-35 but it was a 30mph zone and there was cops all over so I just followed him around and tried to piss him off a little then took off. I really need to get off of my ass and fix those leaks. Monday I'm going to have beads welded on all of the pipes so the silicone stays on good and get some t-bolt clamps and that should take care of everything but I think I might have a leaky injector seal.
EDIT: I forgot to mention after I hit 35mph there was a major ricer flyby in the form of a wrx, he kept going to probably 60. I get that alot now sine I have definatly the most modded dsm in the area and probably one of the most modded imports/compact

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
Nice kill, but 9 psi.
You know how to make the boost leak tester right? It's only like $50. No one ever races me. Probably because I am basically stock but still. I never see any racer type cars when I'm driving, only when I'm with someone else.

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
Yeah I have a boost leak tester, I'm really just to lazy to test it right now and fix it. I have a new piece of silicone coming on monday because I have one thats to small. Then I'll seal it up real good and turn the boost up a little

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
A boost leak tester shouldn't be more than 10 bucks to make. I'm amazing that your car is one of the more modded cars in the area. Austin, MN must not be much of a tuner area
![]() Boost leak testing shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. In fact I'm pretty sure you could have pressurized the system in less time it takes you to start and view this thread. Why not just go find out exactly where the leaks are instead of just guessing?

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
cause I'm lazy and my boost tester is in my tool box at school
Actually I got a bit of energy and took off all of my IC pipes and made damn sure they are all sealed. Austin is more of a ricer area then tuner area haha, theres a purple fox body with a body kit big chrome rims purple neons racing seats projector head lights and a big wing but I guess its supposed to be fast as hell but IMO I dont care how fast your car is if it is that ugly its a pos

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
10 bucks? Are you talking about using a bike pump? That didn't work for me so I had to buy an air tank from home depot which works really good.

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
I usually do it at school where we have unlimited access to compressed air

Re: I really need to fix my boost leaks
O I wasn't assuming the cost of the air pump, I think most people already have that. Either way, I bought the pump I use for my tester for 15 bucks, and it wasn't the cheapest.
