Wierd competition

In this thread we talk about people who have tried to race you with car that really shouldn't even try to compete.

I was driving home from school one day when I see this kid I know in his old ass Buick. It wasn't even a Grand National. Its those ones you see all the time that are white and the big areas of paint missing its still be chipped off. Then theres the rust right in the middle of the part where the paint is gone. Don't know the name of the model though. Anyways he pulls up next to me and rolls down his window and says "Hey wanna race". At first I thought he was kidding but he was dead serious! I was said ok trying not to die of laughter because he's trying race a big old heavy 80's model Buick. He starts gunning it when the light turns green. I don't even have the pedal all the way down and I pass him pretty quickly and I kept going till I no longer saw him in the rearview mirror Needless to say it was the easiest race I've ever been in!

Its really not that hard where I live to beat people out hear where I live because mostly people have a fart can and a bodykit and thats it. Although I admit I was pretty stupid trying to race this kids 96 Civic wiht my Focus. Its the only car thats beaten me. Its one of the few Civics I've seen where the the owner knows how an engine works and has actually put some serious work and money into the car. I thought the guy just had a fart can and a short ram. Boy was I wrong!

Even though its not much of a story this is the type I'm looking of story I'm looking for.

Re: Wierd competition

haha, at my school there are two kinds of car guys..the ones who know what there talking about when it comes to an engine and have pretty decent cars, mustangs, srt-4's, etc..then there are the ones who have only been educated through f&f these are the kids who roll up in anything (especially camry's) and think that they can beat anything as long as they have a whining muffler or a ten foot spoiler, but whatever thats teenagers for ya..

Wait I need more than a fart-can muffler and a big spoiler?

Ah crap, back to pep-boys.

Re: Wierd competition

just becasue a camry has a v6 doesn't automatically make them fast or even quick. they're pretty damn slow. my friend has a 94 v8 camry wagon as a beater and when he floors it i couldn't even tell it was floored. it has decent mid range but it dies out after like 4K.

You know the GN isn't the only Turbo Buick made, right? If an 80s Buick ever came at me, I'd be wondering.

Anyway, dumbest race ever, as far as I can recall, would probably be this kid in a mid 90s Jeep Cherokee that kept trying to race my vr4.

Re: Wierd competition

Maybe I'm just getting old but I actually like the 07 camry.

It comes with the same 268hp 3.5 V6 that is in the avalon.

^ya, the camry jumped quite a bit from 210 hp in 06' to 268 in 07'

Tat, i'm just saying...the v6 has potential, TransAm87 was saying how kids would roll up on camrys and think they could beat anyone, im jus backing the camry up saying TransAm87 should be careful if he bumps into a v6 camry, and especially if he hears a vroooooooommmmmm psssssssssssssssssssss *insert bov here* music

No it was a four door and the kid would've told me it had turbo in it at school. But even that I couldn't hear anything. The engine sounded like it was diesel but it ran on regular gas. Wierd car though. I was wrong about the year it was a 90-95 Century. Look like this but more beat up and shittier looking.
