GT500 Engine Failures already?
Yep the GT 500 already has major failure issues. It seems that the crank shaft has been fracturing or breaking at the snout. It’s a good thing this was caught early unlike the issues the GT had that ended with them having to install a diaper.

hes right, if you read the peice speedfreak posted it says the Lightnings balancer is less than half the weight.

The problem with the GT wasn't the damper because it used one designed for it and it didn't weigh 26lbs. The problem was a oil leak that Ford opted to fix using a speedi-sleeve to stop the leak. The oil leak was due to a random worker who incorrectly polished the cranks with an emory cloth--instead of keeping his hand in the same place while the crank revolved, he moved it down the length in effect creating a path for the oil to follow out of the engine.
