98 taurus steering noise
Whenever I turn the steering wheel to the right it makes a noise like its out of power steering fliud if there is a noise for that but its only when I turn right no noise when I turn left... Also whenever I put the car in reverse and backup whenever I push the brake to put it back into drive it makes an audible click like inside the engine only when I push the brake from reverse anybody know what the noise might be???

Re: 98 taurus steering noise
I know that FOrd's are famous for the power steering pump making noise whether you're turning or not. Sometimes flushing the power steering system and putting new fluid in will help this, it may even be the pump is going bad. Mine has been making noise for a few years now but is still working fine.
Best guess on the clicking, I just had to have the bushings replaced on the front cradle frame, this supports the drivetrain and I used to get a click when ever I shifted into reverse. i was never able to identify the problem until a mechanical was diagnosing another issue and discovered the bushing problem.' Good Luck |

Re: 98 taurus steering noise
My Taurus will make a load power steering moaning sound when I turn the car on warm days. It has been doing it since 20,000 miles. I have had the pump and the fluid changed.
