Funny little story
This is pretty good.
Theres these group of guys in my town, who like to hang out at the local supermarket and show off their 'rides.' Tonight, a few guys and myself went out there with an 88 Benz, a 94 Olds 88 and a Chevy Caprice. Instantly, one of the guys with the sweet 'rides' comes over and starts ripping us. He thought that the 88 turbo deisel Benz had more power, well, I didn't think so and I proved that. So anyway. "That Olds aint got no scoot." "Yes it does, its pretty fast." "No it dont." "Yes, it do." This proves my point of how stupid these guys really are. I know that three of them dropped outof HS and are now hanging out with teenagers being super posers. Most of these guys are at least 30 and are hanging out with 16 and 17 year olds. Is that not lame? Just thought I'd share this about my stupid little redneck, backwoods town. |

Re: Funny little story
I feel for you. In Joplin, the largest town in the area I live in, stupid high school kids cruise Main Street (one of the older business districts in town) to show off their cars and race others at stop lights. I was on Main once going to pick up a friend and some idiot HS kid in an econovan (probably his daddy's or mommy's) starts revving his engine at the light we were stopped at. I was in my Olds at the time and I just waved. I let him peel out before I bothered to start...no point in wasting my gas to show the guy that an early 80's full size van just doesn't go fast.
...And then there are the rednecks in their beat-up trucks with lift kits and huge tires for mudding.

Re: Funny little story
There are only one or two HS kids in this group, the rest are at least 30.

Re: Funny little story
That makes it sadder then...I think there are lots of drop-outs and some college kids in Joplin, but I bet that the majority of the cruisers are <25.
Instead of hanging out with HS kids, I'd expect any 30yr old with a sense of pride in their car would hang around a drag strip instead...sad

Re: Funny little story
Well, I dont think any of these guys have the ponies or cojones to go to the strip. All of there cars have little four bangers with no mods. The only thing they do is put a ton of money into the paint jobs, which suck because one guy has a seafoam Grand Am, and ground effects and lame stuff like there. I've seen a few 'Stangs there too, but they all have V6s and look like crap. Basically, they are posers. A few of my friends and I are thinking about going and throwin down with them. lol. Hmm, maybe its time to pull the Porsche out.
