iroc-z airbag

hey i wanted to get an 1990 iroc-z but unfortunatley my parents are paying for it and they wont let me get a car without dual air-bags. i was wondering if it is possible to install a passenger airbag and if so how much would it cost.

You could install an airbag but it'd be pretty hard.. tell them that it has a driver airbag and that you'll drive by yourself always..

Re: iroc-z airbag

Tell them that it is a safe car and that same car was made for 10 years and only had an airbag available for a couple of them...the car is a tank(especially if you stiffen the frame) and very safe without them...
airbags are more trouble then they are worth and can cause a lot of dammage in an accident
In my sisters 95 cutlass, when the passenger air bag went off, it smashed the windshielf...making the car undrivable!!!
Becides, with older cars, the electronics fade away (the same way you need to get a new desktop computer every few years) and they dont work well anyway...luckily they are safe to beguine with and many people I know with air bags disconnect them because they dont trust the electrical sensors that control them to function properly...

Yeah like he said thirdgens are tanks. Very safe cars. Some manufacturers are getting pretty good with the newer cars and how they are made to crush and absorb impact but I wouldnt trust a lot of them with all of the huge vehicles on the road today.

they are tanks. i got into 2 minor fenderbenders and only broke a fog light and bent my license plate. Just for god sake be careful in the rain. my 2 fenderbenders were cause by hydroplaning and were only at like 10mph (could not do a damn thing). The easiest way to put dual airbags in a third gen is to swap in a 4th gen dash and add the nessesary sensors, etc for the 2nd bag.
