Cool stalling issues while in stop and go traffic

I have a 93 t-bird with 5.0, while I'm in stop and go traffic the car will stall. First it there will be no response to the gas when trying to accelerate and then it stalls, but will start right back up sometimes it happens again others it will be fine for a day or so. I have replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, IAC valve and Ignition control module. I am stumped!

I had that problem - it was my TPS. Mine is a '93-3.8L, tho. Autozone will test yours for free for you. Hope this helps...

Re: stalling issues while in stop and go traffic

When you replaced the fuel pump did you also replace the fp strainer? What about your injectors? You may want to run some cleaner through the system. Make sure that fuel is getting to the injectors and that the injectors are working (I believe you can hook a 9V to each one to make sure you hear the "clicking" sound). If those test good then the problem should be with the ignition system (cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil, etc).

A Hayne's manual and a code reader could help out a lot.

Re: stalling issues while in stop and go traffic

sounds like it might be an issue with timing.
