White Smoke
I have a question about white smoke. Well i lost my lic for 4 month and i havent driven my car for about a month. i had to take my filter off because i got it wet and i was letting it dry. i turn it on because i had to go to the store and the car started to smoke white. what does that means?
thanks carlos

Could be condensation since the filter was wet, but doubt that. Since you haven't turned your car on for 4 mos. the oil is burning for some reason.

I im going to check that and change oil and spark plugs and everything. if not im think about puttin a d16 of a 98 civic in my car but then i have to deal with converting the dual point injection system to a fuel rail injection system

OIL burns blue not white, white is your Antifreeze/coolant, you may have a head gasket leak somewhere and it getting into the combustion chambers.

it may not be anitfreeze. white smoke is just that your car is burning water. could be condensation because you left it so long
try and run it for alittle while then like after a few hundred miles if its still doin it then you probably got a coolant leak. check your coolant to see if its down |

Head gasket was the first thing that came to my mind. As in water coming into the oil circuit and possibly the cylinders. Solution is a new gasket and having the head milled to make sure it is flat. One way to tell if it is shot is to look inside your oil cap - if there is a thick, cream-like emulsion all over it (off white), then you have a lot of water in your oil.
But... drop your oil out and change the filter. Maybe change it again after 200kms or so in case there is condensation in the oil. See what it's like then. Also, remember that if the car has been sitting, there may be condensation in the cat and muffler - that will take a bit to get rid of. That's assuming it's steam, if it is smoke, then there is thin oil, probably with H20 in it. Hopefully not
