bonni ssei check guage light on
I have a bonni ssei my check guage light comes on after about 15 min of driving. It comes on when i stop but goes off after i start to drive again. I'm also using alot of gas replaced the fuel filter oil is good. no oil leaks, replaced oxygen censor and oil pressure sending unit. I think it may be low oil pressure. Earlier today i started my car and it cut off after producing alot of white smoke. I let it sit for about 5 min
then stared it back up and the smoke went away. this happened one time before around december what could it be.

Re: bonni ssei check guage light on
Hi, If your check gauges light is coming on and all the gauges are showing "normal" readings, ie. temperature, oil pressure, voltage, fuel guage not reading in the red zones, then your instrument cluster is likely at fault. The I/P cluster has internal logic that turns on the light but it should not come on unless a gauge is reading something that requires your attention. As for the smoke, is there any possibility that it is bluish-white, such as leaking valve seals might produce?

Re: bonni ssei check guage light on
that's the thing my cluster has some type of malfunction. They go haywire. They've been like thAT SINCE I HAD THE CAR which will be like a year now. But they have never cut on the check gauge b4. But it's hard for me to tell whether it's for oil pressure or overheating. i'm assuming over heating because i have no loss of coolant and i never hear the coolant boiling.

Re: bonni ssei check guage light on
Sounds a lot like a Valve Seal or potentially head gasket with the blueish white smoke, but the gages could be a ground problem. I had all my gages go crazy, and finally added a second wire fromt the h- frame to the engine block and everything cleared up. Before I added the wire the resistance between the H Frame and the block was too high 16.5 Mega Ohms, then after it was 1.6 Ohms. Worth a try anyway.
