2005 LS Water Leakage
Driving during a downpour recently I noticed the passenger side footwell rug area was discolored. I figured it was just that my passenger's shoes were wet and the floor got a little wet. 2 days later (after having no passengers in the car since the downpour) I noticed the area was still discolored and so I reached down to feel it. Lo and belhold it was drenched. Obviously there is a problem. Thoughts?

Re: 2005 LS Water Leakage
Water leaking in through the fresh air intake for the passenger compartment.
Clogged drain for the heater box or A/C. Leaking heater core. Are you losing coolant? Does your carpet smell like coolant? |

Re: 2005 LS Water Leakage
Pretty common, I think there is a TSB out on that issue for the Taurus & Sable and the parts are updated to solve the problem. Be glad you caught yours early, usually it ends up wiping out the blower motor and resistor, and can cause all kinds of corrosion in the evap housing (wires, connectors, hardware, etc).
