96 sts timinng belt
right front side looking down..
i just noticed that the cam belt is frayed,and needs replacing.can i replace that belt by removing the cover,disengauging the tension and sliding the belt right out ,or do i need to do some major pulley disesembling?Also aren't there two belts? thanks in advance |

Are you looking at the serpentine belt? My '94 uses timing chains.I changed the serpentine belt with no problems,but to be on the safe side I also changed the tensioner and the idler pulley.

It is easier to remove the tensioner pulley. I believe it's just two small screws for the cam belt tensioner. It's a real easy job to change the belt. 10 minutes at most!
