98 passenger side view mirror question
Every spring I have wasps build a nest behind the passenger side view mirror. Does the mirror pop off or does the whole mirror head have to come off the door to get the mirror off the head and get back there to clean it out for good. I spray wasp killer behind the mirror, but after a few days some others there to build again. I think if I can get the old nests scrubbed out new ones won't be so eager to build.

Re: 98 passenger side view mirror question
I believe the mirror has to come off to get the mirror motor/face out

Re: 98 passenger side view mirror question
You can get the glass (actually it's plastic) off - tilt the mirror as far as you can to be able to see the inside of the housing. Use a smaller flat blade screwdriver and carefully reach in to release a couple of the plastic "ears" that hold the mirror assembly to the swivel. You'll need good lighting to see and some patience until you get the hang of it. Back together is easier. I lubed up the ears with some silicone spray to make it go back together easier. Careful not to scratch the mirror.

Re: 98 passenger side view mirror question
I think I'll test it on a wreck or two at the junkyard the next time I'm there to get the hang of it without damaging mine. Thanks for the info.
