insurance on a vr6 for a 16 year old

i have a young friend who is soon turning 16 and is getting a car. he would like a jetta vr6 anywhere from 1997 to whenever at a reasonable price. the only thing he is worried about is the insurance prices for the 6-cylinder car. do you guys know if it is any higher than a normal jetta nad if so, how much?

I work with insurance and no the 6 cylinders will not affect the price. His age will have a very big influence on it though just so you know.
