Question 01 Idle Problem

My 2001 Tribute has just started having idle problems. I carried it to the dealer for a service job on Monday with no problems. It sat till Wednesday without being drove. When I cranked it I noticed that it seemed to be idling higher than usual (1100 rpms). The warmer the engine got the higher the idle speed went. I turned off the engine when it got up to 4500 rpms and still climbing. I let it cool down for a couple of hours and went and tried it again. Same results. Anyone have any ideas as to what is going on?

Re: 01 Idle Problem

Open the hood and look at the linkage. I had a problem with the crusie control cable connector breaking off and it might be caught in the linkage. Otherwise, it is electrical, but the first thing to do is to have a look.
