Question help me plzz with transmission

my riviera is shifting at 2000rpm now ,ive change the filter and oil , disconnect the battery but still shifting at 2000rpm. its hard shifting .
do i have to change the transmission even if the oil was not burned and no metal piece on magnet...could it be a sensor???

need more info than that, what yr riviera? have you checked the vac lines for leaks? did you flush the trans fluid or just change what was in the pan? does it always shift at 2k no matter where the throttle is?

it's a1991 riviera i've flush the transmission always shift at2k but not check the vaccum hoses. i've been to somes garages but nobody's say the same thing, change trans,vaccum hoses broken ,defective computer...so i've changed computer $$$ ,flush the transmission,changed a piece in front of transmission, clear the memory of computer and still.

just thought of this but, both the MAF (mass air flow) and throttle position sensor play roles in when the trany shifts. if you can find one or borrow one of those sensors from the junk yard or buy/return to napa you could test to see if it helps.

my car was doing the same thing and i have 98000 on my 95 rivera, and i was hang the same problem and it also seemed to slip goign up hills. i want to a few shops tured out all it need was a tune up, i couldnt belive it so i firured why not ill tune it up and it totatly fixed the problem.
