Exclamation Quick Question : Help Plz !

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to the whole ''car world'' as i am just getting my first car. I just wanted to know...say I was to put a nice exhaust system and a cool-air intake on my automatic golf, would it sound nice? (Because my friend has these in his manual golf and it sounds very nice.)

When i asked him if mine would sound the same he told me that if your car is automatic then you wont be hearing the nice engine//exhaust sound that it would give off if it was manual. (Like his)

Is this true??

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could let me know. Thanks for your help.

Re: Quick Question : Help Plz !

Hi i have an automatic golf mk3 1.8. i put a savage backbox onto it, all welded and clamped. Gave me a little bit more power and it also sounds more grunty. It doesnt sound as loud as a manual but you will notice the difference.

If you are putting a whole new system onto the car i.e changing the cat convertor or not having one at all then it would be alot louder and you would have more power as you would be unrestricting it.

Hope this helps.
