AC Recharge where is low side port?

1994 Pontiac Grand AM Gt V6 3.1L

I see a port on the ac line on top right next to the radiator with a red cap, but my ac gauge wont fit.

Wheres the low side port I can connect my gauge to?

Thanks

For disclaimer if you don't know which port is which then you shouldn't attempt to work on an A/C system yourself. Personal Injury or worse can result from working on the system without proper training.

Disclaimer aside and after stating this "I nor any other will be held responsible for anything that comes from the use of this information"...The low side has a blue cap and the high side has a red cap, also if your using a r-134a gauge and equipment make sure your not trying to connect it to a r-12 system or vice-versa I'm not sure if the '94 grand am's were already switched to r-134a, if not it'll be a r-12 system unless it was retrofitted.

There is no blue cap.

Factory label says R134, was not retrofitted.

I found one underneath right above the starter with a grey cap.

Thats the port you want. The cap started out blue, they fade from the heat they are exposed to. Attach the gauge with the car off, then start the car and turn on the ac to check the pressure. Good luck, you probably have a small leak somewhere, and they can be difficult to find.

The compressor won't turn on if the pressure is too low, and in some cars too high

Re: AC Recharge where is low side port?

The low side AC recharge port is located toward the middle of the car, low between the radiator and engine. Best access is from underneath. Crawl under from the front middle and the blue cap will be visible right as your eyes clear the radiator.

You'll have to jack it up to get anything on it though as the car is too low to allow easy access.

Hope this helps anyone else looking for this particular piece.
