Im not looking to turn this into a major rock buggy but i wanna put about 3 to 4 thousand in it and be able to go more places and have fun with it. The Quadra-trac 4WD system is going to be a problem. For rockcrawling you will need a low range. They make a gear reduction kit that bolts to the rear of the Quadra-trac transfercase, it was a factory option. You could also get a Marlin Crawler to bolt to it for gear reduction. You could switch the transfercase out with something else but then you will have spline count issues with the transmission and differential offset issues with the rear axle.
Put in a low range kit, lower differential gearing, do a spring over conversion, put in some allow axleshafts and slap some 35s on it and have fun.
