Can you tell?

I am looking at this 350 block this guy has for sale and he don't know what year or what car it came off of. But i looked at the block and it can be cleaned and bored to .30 but i was wondering is there any site that will tell you what kind of motor it was if you type the block number in? by the way the # on the block is 3970010.

Re: Can you tell?

you can still run it with tpi. Just get the right heads to match the type of tpi manifold that you have. (whether the inner bolts are angled or not)

Re: Can you tell?

I wouldnt do TBI. Yeah a few people stick by it but ya know....How many fast cars do you see with TBI? I think even the 670 tbi will hurt on top end....not enough velocity to make high horsepower. But someone probably has a dynograph to prove me wrong....

Re: Can you tell?

ya, but i think i will just go with tpi because i would like to have a daily driver 350 tpi at around 360's hp. To do that with a tbi would take alot more money.

Re: Can you tell?

ya but look at his list of mods on the tbi, if you did all of that on a tpi it would have alot more power, i am jusy saying i can get more power for money with tpi. And plus they make a supercharger for the tpi!!
