Caliper froze up!

Has anyone in here ever had one of there brake calipers freeze up where the wheel had a hard time turning. I noticed a burning smell and a tug when I would accelerate and thought I better get it into the shop. They said they had to completly re-build my caliper to get it fixed. Just wanted to know if anyone else ever experienced this.

O another thing strange happened to my car this past weekend. I went on a road trip out to the east coast from Illinois and on the way home my "check engine" light came on. I wasn't to worried about it but the day after I got home it went off. Is that normal? I was driving at some high speeds on the way home and didn't know if that had anything to do with it or not. It has come on once before so I took it to the shop the last time and it was an O2 sensor. He just re-set it and I was on my way. Strange things are happening to my car....LOL

Thanks,

Yeah, my car has thrown O2 codes before, not a big deal. I think they get kinda hot when you go on real long trips, and it sets something off. As for the brake thing, that has never happened to me.

Re: Caliper froze up!

they would def. get hot on long trips cuz when you are at a constant speed it leans the a/f ratio out which would also make things a little hotter

caliper? no, if i were you i'd go w/ the fed-spec calipers off mitsuparts.com or something. when something breaks... upgrade
