94 overheating Problem

In need of guidance!
For the last few weeks ive had over heating problems.
Ive changed the thermastat , takin the radiator off to get flush and clean out
ive changed the water pump , then change out the head gasket and the temparture sensor , after that it ran good till three blocks from the house and over heated again . Ive bypassed and ran the fan direct to get it back to the shop and it still over heated . Please help. My temp and patience for this car is runnig out bout ready to beat it with a sledge hammer and sell it for scrap.

Re: 94 overheating Problem

Are you certain you got all the air out of the system? If there is air in the block the engine will overheat easily. Also, check and make sure the hoses are good on the inside. Very important as they can internally collapse and show no internal signs. Finally, make sure that the fans are working. If not that can cause the engine to overheat.

Re: 94 overheating Problem

What temp thermostat did you put into it?

Does the upper radiator hose get hot?

Perhaps you need to flush the whole system and not just the radiator? The heater core can get gunked up too. May be easy enough to disconnect at the firewall and stick a garden hose up to it and check for flow.

Check your radiator cap for a good seal. Fill the overflow container and monitor it to see if water gets sucked inside... then refill as necessary. Having filled the radiator does not mean the system is full. With the engine running keep the overflow bottle at the right level... also be sure the tube to the overflow is good and is not plugged.
