Nearly Completed - Nissan R34 Pennzoil Skyline

Tamiya Nissan Pennzoil R34 Skyline, that is not completely finished yet. Model has been a total nightmare, taken many months due to one problem after another and was meant to be a highly detailed build of the infamous Playstation GT Skyline.

The build was intended to be upgraded with many CF decals, P/E parts and metal turned antenna. After all the problems, planning etc I have managed to get the model to a 90% completed stage, but bad SMS CF decals, placing body decals in the wrong order, tape leaking and various other problems I nearly gave up on it. This is really just a posting to all those who do get frustrated with models, just stick with it, as eventually it does come good…

I’ll not start from the beginning as it’ll perhaps only bore you all. I’ll just post a few pictures I feel you might be all interested with.

And if anyone wants to see all the progress pictures they are here –

I’ve only got the door mirrors and wing to complete, but can’t seem to get the final bit of motivation to finish this one.

It really feels like you are talking to me directly when I read this...

I can really relate to your build. My build is now falling apart as it comes closer and closer to the final stages of completion...I am so frustated. Seeing that you are sharing this build with us, may be I shouldn't feel too bad!

From the pics you posted, it looks to be a quality build. I cannot spot anything wrong. May be not as detailed as you wanted...

I hope that all goes well with your STI build! I am really looking forward to seeing that.

Winston

Looking good. You have saved this one by the sounds of it. I can feel your pain as i am having the same issues at present with my current build. Well done on sticking with it.

Great.
Yes I know: this model need some "tolerance" and a bit of imagination to find out the space for the decals but looks like your is turned out good.

You speak from my heart. Actually I always think about just leaving the stuff alone, when things turn wrong.

Luckily, you decided to go ahead and actually have a very decent result of your effort.

Your work turned out very good!
