Possible transfer case leak

While I was changing my oil I checked for the infamous transfer case leak that had the recall. What I saw looked a lot like what is shown on dsm.org. What do you guys think?

Oh, and when I put on the filter, the filter wrench put a whole buch of dents where the edge of the wrench was. It doesn't seem like they were bad enough to go through the case but these things are supposed to be rated up to like 250 psi right? I don't know what the hell happened because I'm 90% sure I used the same wrench on the previous exact same filter and it had absolutely no marks. You're supposed to turn it 3/4 after hand tight right?

It was one of these types:

Thanks guys!

Personally it looks liek the grease is just shooting off the universal. I'm not sure how'd you would get a transfercase leak, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Possible transfer case leak

I thought the problem was the plug leaking?

Re: Possible transfer case leak

Re: Possible transfer case leak

Yeah, its the plug that's supposed to leak. I'm planning on taking it into the dealer but if I see signs of it leaking like it does in the recall then I'll damn sure take it sooner (locking up at highway speeds = possible death). This is the page I was talking about. http://www.dsm.org/menu.epl?item=339 Click on the first link.
