Arrow 03 dakota master power window switch

Need quick answer please to a question about the drivers master power window switch, 4 door, mine is 03 think its been wrecked it has a drivers side door panel that says 04 dakota wrote on inside panel. the drivers switch works backwards , even thou the auto printed on switch is correct it says 02 dakota on the underside of the master console window switch , i ordered a used one on ebay suppose to be from 03 and it works backwards going up and it auto ups but does not go down at all. the wire plug that plugs in, fits in both. but the wires must run different. all the wires plug in at one end , so I cant tell which wires operate which windows, plus some wires must go to auto down maybe, and window lock button. can two wires be switched if I figure out which ones? or will I fry the wiring or blow fuse or fry window console? or is nothing going to work because its in the sealed window console? I know on another vehicle when putting in power window motor it says on instuctions not to operate motor unless its grounded, or it can cause motor to run backwards, i dont know if this is what happened? thanx
