hey guys i need some MAJOR HELP HERE...ok i go to leave my house one day start my car and pull out on the road, accelerating normally as usual, but then! i notice very quickly that my car isnt shifting into second...i let off and push the accelerator again and my engine will rev up like the tranny is slipping but then it will catch n start accelerating again but never shifts! All the while my speedometer isnt working either! I replaced the VSS hoping that would cure the problem but to NO AVAIL...I REALLY NEED a quick answer because i am supposed to leave for houston on friday for a new job and i absolutely can not miss this! My car is a 1992 grand prix LE 3.1 with a 3 speed tranny! any help will be much appreciated!

unfortunately the 125C is not computer controlled. The only thing that is computer controlled is the TCC. Don't sound good that is slipping and won't shift. Is the fluid level correct? Did the speedo start working after the new VSS?

Re: Help!!! No Speedo And Wont Shift Out Of First!!

You stated that you had the transmission flushed. I wonder if that just shocked the system into failure. Sounds like a rebuild or major repair is needed, but I am not a tranny tech or capable for diagnosing those issues.

With it being a 92' I can only assume that you had really high miles when it was flushed.

Good luck.

Yea if the vacuum was bad you would get late shifts but.... it wouldn't slip and still would shift.
