Critique my DIY PaintBooth

Hey guys, first off - great forum!

I will be *attempting* my first paintjob in about a month on an Acura Integra I am restoring...

I will be doing the painting in NY while home for the summer from college. I unfortunately do not have a garage available to me to build a spray booth so I must totally fabricat one in a large backyard. Please read my plan and let me know if I am missing something, or planning something wrong, thanks..

I will be creating a 16'x12' platform of 2x6 lumber, framed standard 16" centers, sheathed in 3/4 plywood. This platform will rest on temporary concrete deck support blocks. A small ramp will be made to drive the car into and out of the booth.

Walls will be framed using just posts at the 4 corners, and angled braces...no studs...

The roof will be a simple 2x4 frame running around the perimeter with a few stringers arcoss the middle for ridgidity and for hanging the lights and the chains for part painting...

the entire frame will the be sheathed in 4 MIL clear plastic, stapled and duct taped at all seams...

ventilation will consist of an intake port with fiberglass filter elements about 2.5'x2.5' square (heater filters)..the exhaust port will be filtered in the same way, but will have a box fan on the outside to circulate the air.

lighting will be flourescent 4' tube fixtures, 4 total, one angled at each corner of the ceiling (8 total bulbs for the 16'x8' room)

Any comments or concerns? Keep in mind this is a booth designed to be built in a matter of hours by myself (im a fast carpenter from way back, but new to painting, lol), used for just this one paintjob, and then dissassembled and all parts discarded....so temporary and cheap is the key here....I just need something that will work for 1 job, and 1 job only....

Re: Critique my DIY PaintBooth

I'm no expert but is 16' enough? If you plan to hit the whole car in one spray (an assumption of mine) you may be a bit short of space at the front and back.
