Rx7 ka-t progress (with some pics)

Well finally got started on the Rx7 project, and got the old Rotary yanked out of it.

Some Progress pics for yall

after it stops snowing, i'll post up some pics of the newly painted gloss black engine bay

today im having a custom fab company drop by the house to check out the engine bay so they can tell me how much the custom engine tranny mounts are going to be...so...the fun is just beginning...

Re: Rx7 ka-t progress (with some pics)

Fenders are a bitch to get off on my 240. I had a deer run into my driver's side fender. (Yeah, the deer ran into me!) That was a bitch job to fix. And now, some idiot backed into my passenger side fender. So I have to fix that.

Keep us posted on that Rx7 project. Seems like a lot of work.

Yeah.....f'n deer. Its head hit the fender, fliped over onto my windshield, rolled down my hood, and onto the ground. Then it got up and ran away. Didn't even hurt the deer, bastard. Thank God it only messed up the fender, and a few dents on the hood. That's my luck though, things rarely go right for me. One thing after another.

no its just 240's in general.....and 240 fenders are easy as hell to take off......most fenders are. There all 99% the same. Trucks(newer) are the worst depending on what side your taking off.....have to move a bunch of shit.

2 by door, 2 in rocker, 2-3 in the bumper, all the bolts in the bay. Pull off. Unless you have splash guards, then you have to take out a few christmas trees to get to some of the shit.

oh and project looks good.

Re: Rx7 ka-t progress (with some pics)

Well I didn't know what I was doing at first, so it was hard for me. But I get a lot of experience out of it.

Re: Rx7 ka-t progress (with some pics)

its easiest to take the fenders off by taking the front bumper off...then you can get the Bolt thats on the fender brace (on the front of the fender) ALOT easier.

And yea im suspecting that the RX7 is weighing around 1500lbs without then interior and engine/tranny...or possibly lighter...and yes the tranny is EXACTLY the same length as the RX7 tranny, so it will fit perfect...and im mounting the engine the same distance from the firewall to make it fit the same...
