Thumbs up 92 Mustang Covert. Questions..

I recently purchased a 92 mustang covert. from someone and he didn't have the owner's manual anymore. 2 questions...

First, is there a particular type of freon the air conditioner uses?

second, to operate the top is there anything special that needs to be done besides clicking the nice button that says 'top'?

Thank you for your help...

Re: 92 Mustang Covert. Questions..

FOR THE TOP PUT IT IN NUTRAL PULL THE E-BRAKE, CHECK IN BACK TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IN THE SPOT WHER THE HOOD FITS INTO, POP THE LATCHES THEN PUSH THAT NEAT LITTLE BUTTON.

NEXT CHECK WITH THE MECANIC TO VARIFY THIS. IF THE SYSTEM HAS BEEN UP DATED TO 134a IT WILL HAVE A FITTING OVER THE FITTING THAT ARE ON THE LINE ALLREADY ( IN OTHER WORDS AN ADAPTER). YOU CAN BUY 134a AT THE STORE. BUT, MOST LIKELY IT USES SOMETHING LIKE R-12 REFIGERENT. ANYWAY LONG STORY SHORT IF IT DOSENT TAKE 134a YOU'LL HAVE TO HAVE THE A/C SHOP CHARGE IT ANY WAY. PLUS IF ITS BEEN OUT OF COOLANT FOR A WHILE THE COMPRESSOR WILL NEED TO BE FILLED CORECTLY. SO BOTTOM LINE IS LET THE SHOP TAKE CARE OF IT AT LEAST THE FIRST TIME. GOOD LUCK.
