Changing Air Compressor?
Hi there! Hubby and I are needing a new air compressor in our 2000 Windstar. He is a novice and has never done this type of job before. We have a Haynes Manual to go by and we planned on purchasing the entire compressor kit from NAPA since they have everything we would need pretty much in the one kit. He would need a couple special tools we know and we could get those.
I have called 2 places in our little town and one place wants to charge us $600 and another place $750-800!! We have 3 kids and twins due in a few weeks AND we live in TEXAS so we have to have an air conditioner!! We do know for sure it is the compressor, as we have tried the recharge kits and none worked, etc. Is this a really tough job to do? My brother can do it, but he works 6 days a week and it is hard for our schedules to mesh. Please I would appreciate any insight anyone could give us at this point! Thanks! pb1998 |
