Possible New Firebird Owner NEEDS HELP

I am about to sell my Blazer and possibly purchase an 01 or 02 Firebird WS6 Automatic with T-Tops. Are there any main problems with these cars I might need to know about before buying? Major malfuntions in the drivetrain? Does the LS1 do this car justice? Is this car heavier than the same year Camaro? I ask because it looks much bulkier (I like that btw). I would appreciate any input you guys/gals could give me on this. I have tried google but keep coming up with conflicting info. Figured you people would know best.

Thanks!!!!!!

Super reliable and easy to work on. My auto LS1 ran a 13.4 stock and I managed to get my M6 LS1 into the 12's stock with nitto's.
My M6 LS1 now has 163k on it and is cammed. Has never broke down on me once and I drive it like its stolen. I have put 50K trouble free miles on the car.

The LS1 is an awesome engine, very solid and performs well, defiantly trade in your car for a T/A. I read somewhere that the T/A is only like 100lbs heavier than the Camaro, it looks bulky but think of what its made of, its not steel

Re: Possible New Firebird Owner NEEDS HELP

Ahh. Thanks for the replies guys. I am looking for one locally (do not like buying over the internet) so it might take me a while to find what I am looking for. I can find the Z28 Camaros all day but not the WS6 Firebird. I appreciate the feedback and if anyone else has any please post it!!

Re: Possible New Firebird Owner NEEDS HELP

I found my T/A on Autotrader. It was local, so I went and checked it out.

Good luck!!

The LS1 is a good stout motor. Stock and modded.
