95 Lumina sedan - 3.1 - Power window problems

My 95 Lumina started to have problems with the power windows going up and down. This problem would occur randomly over a period of about 3 months. When there wasn't an issue, all of the windows worked fine, but when there was an issue, none of the windows worked. I assumed it was the master switch on the driver's side door, because I would have to touch the switch in a certain way to get the windows to work.
I took out my existing switch and cleaned the connectors, but still received the same results. I replaced that switch with one from a salvage yard, but again the same results. The windows would work sometimes, but not always. Because of this, I do not believe it is motor related or stuck windows.
I have checked all of the fuses, and I have tested to see that power is getting to the power windows fuse. I do not know how to test to see if power is getting to the master switch. My guess it is a wire harness isssue, but where do I start to look? Any other suggestions would be helpful.

Re: 95 Lumina sedan - 3.1 - Power window problems

i am in the same damn sinking ship!! this fookin car had more bugs than a termite mound!! i can get only the drivers window to work! done electrical traces, replaced switches/relays, banged(with a hammer) on motor itself! window will go down with a lil forceful help but wont go up, yet power is existent to the motor!!!

btw - cant get the back 2 windows to work either!!

Re: 95 Lumina sedan - 3.1 - Power window problems

Ok- I think I Know what part of the problem is... I have a '95 Lumina and the driver's side window wouldn't go up without pushing and sometimes would stop altogether. I actually replaced the little DC motor and now it works great everytime!! I think the driver's side motor is somehow in series with the rest of the power window circuitry.
