Air Conditioning Blows warm until you start driving

I checked the charge level, on the low pressure line, the pressure is extremely high. I noticed that the A/C condenser fan is not turning on, also the line that connects from the compressor to the A/C condenser fan is extremely hot. The condenser is not obstructed. The compressor clutch kicks on and off at a normal range. Could the problem lie in the A/C condenser fan??????

Any help is appreciated,
Rob

I forgot to mention that the freon pressure is normal then it increases extremely high when the clutch kicks in.

Re: Air Conditioning Blows warm until you start driving

I may not know alot about engines and things mechanical under the hood but one thing i do know about is AC's 134a is a sensitive gas and it has to be just right and tell me this when the condensor fan cuts on does it turn fast or slow as if i could be going bad, you need to check on that. The suction (low side) should not rise when the compressor clutch kicks in, it should rest on a high pressure reading while its off and when it clutches in it should lower. Problems it could be is that the compressor may have a bad valve or condensor is stopped up or to much 134a in the system. it should have about 30 to 32 pounds of gas on normal conditions. Also if motor been replace or transmission check for bent lines, on a 134a system, remember it cant have a bend or crease or you will see higher pressures. You need to check high side pressures if it reads around 150 to 200 thats ok above that your gonna blow the compressor if you keep runnin it. hope this helps you get started on it.

Re: Air Conditioning Blows warm until you start driving

Mine was doing the same thing. Also at long stop lights the a/c would soon start blowing hot air. I bought a compressor fan and shroud on ebay. I saved $50 by not buying from the dealer here in Tucson. You can't just buy a fan motor. It fixed my problem.

Check all of your fuse boxes first, look at engine fuse box #39 I believe.
