FOrks??
I have a 1996 civic ex coupe with 92k miles. I also live in Cali, so everything needs to be legal and pass smogs/etc. This is my only car/DD
I wan't to start working on this car, but I don't wan't to sacrafice reliability. Can this be done with a turbo? Im guessing no. So right now im leaning towards NA, even though I know the car won't be as fast. I have the stock d16y8, and im guessing right now its around 105 whp(correct?). Lets say my first goal would be 130 whp. What should I do? Any suggestions are more than welcome. Thanks in advance.

Re: FOrks??
get a greddy turbo kit and dont go boost crazy and you'll be ok at around 7psi of boost.

Re: FOrks??
So if I were to get a turbo kit, how much less reliable would my car be?

Re: FOrks??
the greddy kit is safe and reliable for your car, as long as the compression is still good and not leaking. it will make about 300hp maxed out the turbo, but then your engine internals will have to be upgraded. but the kit is made for 7 psi of boost with e-manage and fuel injectors. that will get you to about 150hp at the wheels and still be reliable.

Re: FOrks??
Thanks a lot for the reply. So it would still be fairly reliable, but not as stock right?
