Question '99 Fuel Filter Replacement

Does anybody have any tips/tricks to removing the fuel lines from the fuel filter on a 99 V6 4.0L? I've got the removal tool, but they won't budge. I've already destroyed one tool trying to do it.

Any ideas?

use an open end wrench to push the tool in and push in on the line at the same time before trying to pull it apart!!!

Eastwood sells a pair of pliers for getting gas lines off much easier.I have one of those, they do work and it is not cheap. The pliers look like wire strippers but for gas lines. Here is Eastwood's website: www.eastwood.com type in gas line pliers

Re: '99 Fuel Filter Replacement

I've got the pair of gas line pliers from AutoZone. That's the tool I was referring to that I broke. I STILL can't get the line off.

Re: '99 Fuel Filter Replacement

I bougth a tool from Auto Zone. It didn't work very well. I finally got it off with a combination of cussing pliers and brute force. When in double force it!!! Just don't get gas in your eye.
