WIP Project Rallye

I've always been a fan of the MK2 Golf Rallye. With its flared steel arches and its 1.8 G60 engine, in my eyes is one of the better VW produeced to date. With 5000 produced, including the 70 official UK cars. There have been many imported to UK, but significant numbers are exported back to Germany. Seems us brits have the best examples.
Enough blabbering on about the real car.

Some of my reference photos

Kit and Extras

Still waiting on the kit to arrive but managed to make the FMIC. Also i gotta contact DasWeisel on AF about the G60 Engine.

Progress

Extra bits
- AMT Seats from FnF Supra
- AMT Rear axale and middle pipe from FnF Supra
- AMT Rollcage from XXX GTO

What I want to do
- Widen the arches.
- Make the grill and headlights (any tips on doing theis would be greatly appriacated).
- Build a full FIA spec rollcage.
- Add a Nitrous bottle.
- Sqeuntail gearshift.
- Add the Syncro 4WD system.
- Strip out the interior.
- Painted in Mint Metallic Green, same colour on my 1:1 MK3

As i said before just gotta wait for the kit to get here.

Gonna have a go at making the proper rallye front end. Engine should be here next week.

Come to a bit of a dilema.

Theres 4 different styles of grill.
- Badged
- Badged with a eyebrow
- De-badged
- De-badged with eyebrow

Grill semi done. Decided on Badgeless.

One of my favourite Rallyes, driven by Janet Wardson who runs one of the VW owners clubs, Club GTI i think. I had the pleasure of seeing the car 1st on a recent trip to PSI Tuning (Local VAG specialists). Jan was more than happy to show me and my dad around the car. At the time she was just having her new dash fitted. The car was a 1.8 G60, but the Andy at PSI had fitted a 1.8 turbo from an Audi S3, runnig 250BHP at teh time.

Pics are from various VW forums and such, cus like an idiot i'd left my camer at home.

Couple of my more interesting rallye pics

Rallye with a 2.8 VR6 Turbo

Rallye with a 3.2 V6 Turbo from a Golf R32

Sorry if the pics are a little big, i have no way to resize them.
