Question 86 ranger no start

Got a doozie I'm trying to figure out. 86 Ranger 2.3L EFI engine has symptoms of being flooded. Have heard that holding the pedal to the floor while cranking the engine works. Does it work with this engine? I have done the following to this truck. Cap, rotor, wires, plugs, and a new in-line fuel pump. Rolls and fires but not enough to start. Thought it might be the module that hooks to the distributor but I have good spark at the plugs. Could the computer be bad? If so where is it? I am mechanically inclined but hate wires. Good fuel flow and put fresh fuel into the truck. Timing checks out and I triple checked my wire routing from cap to plug. What is a good way to dry a flooded engine? Thanks.

Re: 86 ranger no start

UPDATE!!! IT RUNS!!!. Found the distributor was 90 degrees off. My redneck fix was to move the wires one pole over so that number one lined up with the rotor. Not the correct fix I know, but when you have no money to work with you do what you have to. Thanks again stv840. This is an awsome place to find answers.
