Hi everyone, Happy Easter!!
I just had my caravan fixed for the gauges not working problem on thursday, then thursday night i had to try 3 times to start the van, it started after the 3rd time , and worked fine all day friday, then friday night, it would not start at all, we have cleaned the battery terminals with baking soda and water, tried jumping, (but i have radio, horn, lights etc..) also tried removing the iod fuse, none of this has worked, please help??? any suggestions? I have had to call off work twice now,,I bought this van 2 mos ago, ironically, b/c i was having problems with my other van (a conversion van that is much older), I am so frustrated right now I can cry.. The best cure I've seen (and did) was the instrument cluster removal and clean off the solder contacts and check the "plug contacts" that connects the entire instrument cluster to the electrical harness. It's in the "intermittent starting, won't start, instument cluster" thread with photos and instructions and everything. I brought the print out to a gas station and the guy charged me sixty bucks to do it. Took a few hours. Once done...no more problems. I must say I tried the Dodge dealer first..after a few hours they "couldn't get to it yet". I took it to a station and they got right to it.
