well first of all it's a dry shot and a wet shot. dry shot is the simplest to install because all you do is drill a hole in your intake 2-6 inches from the throttlebody and put the jet in that. zex is the the easiest to install because all you install is a control module and run the line from that. a wet shot is where you drill hole in you intake manifold and put the jets in there. this will allow you to go with higher shots because you don't have to worry about mixing enough fuel so that you don't run to rich or to lean.(don't have to worry to a certain point)also it's better because you are shooting it right into the combustion chambers and have it evenly distributed to all of the chambers.

What is nitrous?

Nitrous is a gas consisting of 2 nitrogen molecules and 1 oxygen molecule. (36% oxygen by weight.)

Why nitrous?

It's the single cheapest form of boost, dollar to power ratio.

Is nitrous flammable?

No. Nitrous is not combustable until the molecular bond is broken.

How does it work?

At 572 degrees fahrenheit, the molecular bond to nitrous is broken. The oxygen molecule is burned to enhance the flame front and the nitrogen molecules act as a buffer. That's how nitrous makes power. It takes the same molecules you find in ambient air and changes the ratio. It, somewhat, does the same thing as a supercharger or turbocharger, to an extent, but it does it with chemicals. In addition to increasing the cylinder compression and oxygen content, it also has the nice side effect of decreasing intake air temperatures. When used in conjunction with a turbo or supercharger, it can also add an intercooling effect.

What's the difference between a wet and a dry system?

A dry system, essentially, jets nitrous into the intake and additional fuel is supplemented by raising the pressure in the stock fuel system. A wet system, on the other hand, taps into the fuel line and jets additional fuel at the time that the nitrous is jetted. There's a few different types of delivery for a wet system. One is a single wet fogger, which places a single jet in the intake that jets both nitrous and fuel. Another is direct port, where the manifold is plumbed to add an individual jet into each runner. Finally, there is the plate system, which places a flat jetting "plate" sandwiched somewhere between the manifold and the head. These nozzles receive nitrous/fuel by solonoids that are activated either by manual switch, window switch, or throttle position switch.

What do I need to run nitrous safely?

I would recommend using spark plugs one or two degrees colder. Make sure you use premium high octane fuel. You may also want to upgrade your fuel pump. Another option is to have some kind of ignition control unit so you can retard the ignition timing a little when you're jetting. Definitely make sure your motor is in good condition and that your compression numbers are up to spec before spraying.

Um, is it legal?

That's hard to say. There's a fine line there. It's legal to carry, it's legal to have installed, it's legal to run at the track, it's legal to buy. It's just illegal to use it on the street and it's not smog legal. It does NOT damage the catalytic convertor, though.

How long is it safe to spray for?

About 15-25 seconds at a time, as a general rule.

What's the best temperature to use nitrous?

About 80-90 degrees fahrenheit.

What's the difference between a manual switch, window switch and throttle position switch?

A manual switch requires you to press a button or flip a switch to jet nitrous and the nitrous will continue to jet until deactivated. A window switch jets nitrous at a certain rpm and changes jet size or cuts the jets at pre set intervals. A throttle position switch typically only jets the nitrous when the throttle is wide open.

What's a bottle blanket/heater?

It's a blanket or wrap that goes around the bottle and heats it up so that you have optimal bottle pressure.

What's a purge valve?

It's an additional line with a solonoid that clears the lines by releasing the stagnant nitrous. That ensures that you have fresh nitrous as soon as you start jetting.

I need some very serious detailed information for a very specific problem I have. Is there anywhere I can get more help?

Yes, call NOS tech support. 1-714-546-0592
