starting issue needs resolution

Hey AF,

I wanted to throw another problem I need some help with. My 74 Nova will start on any good day. The carb. sounds great and all will be well....until I turn the ignition off. I'll try to start it again and I'll get NO SPARK! The car will not start for another couple hours. The battery is running around 12.3 volts so what could be the problem. Any advice would again be appreciated. Thanks.

- Nick

Re: starting issue needs resolution

You could try replacing the ignition module in the distributor. When they go, they tend to do what you are describing (sometimes there's spark, sometimes there isn't). The module is pretty cheap and easy to replace. Hope this fixes the problem. Might want to throw on a new cap & rotor button too if you haven't replaced them in a while.

Good call Nova71. They get hot and break down... leaving you stranded for a few hours until it cools off.
