Mugen DC2 Integra type R

I picked this one up from clatescivicr in the classified for sale forum, who is great to work with by the way very fast shipping and help with questions. I was super siked to finely find one as i have been looking for some time. I love Mugen as you guys can tell from my name. this will be super detailed with every available mugen part I can get or make. Not sure of the rims but probably MF10's, and I may make individual throttle bodies instead of the mugen intake box. Also I need some suggestions for paint I don't know what color I will make it but I'm leaning toward a champaigne gold color. anyways heres some pics. hope you guys like. And as always comments and suggestions welcome.

Steve

Re: Mugen DC2 Integra type R

I forgot to mention in my first post what I've done to the engine so far, so heres the list
valve cover made to look like mugen valve cover, still needs decals and oil cap. also there are only 5 slits by the spark plug vally there should be 8, but I was'nt able to fit them all.
custom made mugen header 4 into 1
working oil dipstick
I added motor and transmision mounts
it will have a mugen oil cap, mugen radiator cap, mugen strut braces, spoon style braided spark plug wires, spoon battery, spoon radiator hoses, and other do dads when I think of them. let me know if I missed anything.

Re: Mugen DC2 Integra type R

What did you use to remove the plug cover?

LOL, you should have the orange Mugen brake cylinder socks that would be pretty cool. Is it going to be truely a JDM car, with the firewall detail reversed and RHD?

Wow, nice engine detail. Motor mounts are always hot additions. I really like the way this is going, especially since you found the mugen ITR. It's going to turn out great, I can see it now!

I used a hobby knife with a new blade to remove the plug cover. First I removed the distributer and VTEC solinoid as one piece, then the plug cover this part is very tedious work you have to be careful not to damage the surounding cover, just scribe the cover as if you were removing a door or hood, it helps to remove the locating pins from the underside of the valve cover first. then file and sand straight and square.

thats a good idea about the brake cylinder socks I'll have to look into a way to replicate those accuratly, by the way the car will be full JDM with right hand drive.

What do you guys think? should I do the throttle body set up or the mugen intake.

Re: Mugen DC2 Integra type R

Was'nt happy with the original valve cover I made from the kit piece, so I made another one from scratch. It still needs an oil cap, Mugen of coarse. I think the new one is much better.

For the brake/clutch reservior socks, I used blue flocking to replicate the ones Spoon sells. There's no "Spoon" stitching, but I thought the effect was good enough to ignore that detail.

Steve great job!! Glad I was able to sell it to someone who would do it justice! I can't wait to see the finished project. If you need any reference pictures let me know, I have quite a few.

I'm currently working out the details on casting the valve covers with Phatmitsu, so you may be able to get your hands on them sooner than you think.
