My New Paint Idea

Hey guys, I am unfotunately one of the unlucky ones who has the shitty ass paint job on the 2000 models. To fix it, this summer I am planning on doing my own painting with the help of a friend. The idea that I have picked out is pretty simple, but should look very cool. Im gonna go with House of Kolor paint, a black base with dark grey thick stripe on the sides. The stripe would start at the front bumper, bottom front of each, and run slightly upwards towards the back, ending up at tail-light height. On top of the stripe I am going to lay a Green to purple Cameleon candy coat before I lay the clear. I dont want the Cameleon to look too strong, so thats why Im gonna lay it like a candy on top of the base grey, that way it looks normal unless you see it in the sun, or look close. Then I plan on clearing the shit out of it. I think it will look real good when it's done, and Ill for sure put a crap load of progress pics and final pics up. Let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas (nothing too crazy because I am doing it myself....simple but effective.)

Re: My New Paint Idea

I was thinking about 4, maybe 5 inches. I want it to be pretty thick, and since its going to be such a dark color it isnt going to stick out too bad. Im also filling in the scallops on the doors so that the doors are smooth all the way down. Maybe Ill start the line out thick at the front, and taper it off towards the rear. IDK for sure yet, Ill lay some tape lines, and play with Photo shop a little to figure somehting it. Let me know if youve got any ideas..anything
