Coolant Leak , Check This

I thought I had a leaking lower intake manifold. It turned out to be the Coolant temp sending unit. It was not screwed in all the way. At first it would not budge, then it made a snap sound . I was able to turn it another 3/4 of a turn, could probably have turned it another turn or so. My " bu " DOES NOT LEAK ANYMORE.

If you want to see the picture
1. cut and paste url into web browser or click link
2, at the web site scroll down and click "free"
3. then scroll down again
4. you will see a download ticket count down
5. at the end you will see 3 characters
6. enter the 3 characters in the box to the right of the word "here"
7. click the download button

Re: Coolant Leak , Check This

oh, that was where it was leaking from alright. The little orange lake under the throttle body has completely dried up. I can not help but think that maybe these sensors are not being put in right and they allow coolant to leake, then the engine overheats and the lower intake gasket is damaged.

I had an 89 chey celebrity, 2.8 L v6 that i had for 14 years, only had to replace the OX sensor. I can not see GM redesing the lower intake manifold gasket for the Malibu line. I would think that the lower intake manifold would be made the same for both cars, ( not meaning they are interchangeable, but, the same materials) I think there is something else wrong besides the lower intake manifold gasket being of poor design.
