Alternative options

OK to start I need a new alternator. The one I have is original to the car, a 94 V6. I need a high output because I have some subs and I dont like the dimming lights. Where should I get one? Plus I was wondering if I should change the coil packs and spark plug wires? (they are original too)

And it also has an oil leak, I have heard that GM's 3.4s leak but from where? It looks like it is coming from something above the oil filter. The oil pressure drops when its warm is this part of the oil leak? if not is there any way to fix the pressure? FYI the pressure, when cold, starts at about 40 PSI but drops to about 10 when warm and ideling but when the RPMs go up so does the pressure but not above 20-30 PSI

Re: Alternative options

Well, better safe than sorry on the tune up, no point in blowing it off any longer.

on the alternator, make sure your battery is up to a good charge before firing it up after the replacement.

The oil leak, is probably the sending unit. The pressure "drop" sounds about normal, it should be higher at startup the fall in that range. 20 psi is a tad lo, could just be time for a change too.
